Gender Identity

Gender Pronoun

A consciously chosen set of pronouns that allow a person to accurately represent their gender identity, i.e., him/him/his, she/her/hers, they/them/theirs (neutral). A trans person may begin using a gender-neutral pronoun prior to transitioning, or a non-binary person may choose to use a neutral pronoun. (source)

Gender spectrum

Most societies view sex as a binary concept, with two rigidly fixed options: male or female, based on a person’s reproductive anatomy and functions. But some children are born with chromosomes, hormones, genitalia and/or other sex characteristics that are not exclusively male or female. These intersex traits demonstrate that sex exists across a continuum of possibilities, i.e., a gender spectrum. (source)
